Lipodystrophy
A change in where the body keeps fat.
The short answer
Tesamorelin is an injected medicine that prompts the body to release growth hormone, a growth signal.
As of September 28, 2026, U.S. approval covers reducing excess belly fat in adults with HIV and lipodystrophy.
HIV is short for human immunodeficiency virus.
The drug label says tesamorelin is not a treatment for general weight loss.
An online visit may end without a prescription, meaning a medicine order issued by a doctor or another health professional who is allowed to prescribe.

Assessment
The conversation and checks used to work out what care fits.
What getting care involves
Start by describing your concern, rather than asking only for a drug name.
Bring your medicine list, past test results and the questions you want answered.
The tesamorelin label calls for a blood sugar check before treatment and more checks during care.
It also calls for checks of a growth signal in the blood called IGF-1.
Ask who arranges those checks and who explains the results.

Find the word behind your question
Approved use What does approval actually cover? Pharmacy copies Can a pharmacy make its own tesamorelin? Licence How do I check the people behind a service? Total cost What needs to be in a written quote? Contraindication When does the label rule this medicine out?
A place to pause
Ask for a plain answer when a term gets in the way.
Take a question into the visit
Which health problem is this care meant to address?
What result would make this plan useful to me?
Who can I reach between visits?
Keep the answers together so you can compare care options without relying on a sales headline.
